Cosatu and its affiliates commemorated the International Day of Decent Work, 6 October, with marches in urban centres around the country. Elitsha attended the actions in Cape Town, King William’s Town in the Eastern Cape, and Tshwane.
LGBTQI+ workers still face discrimination and harassment in the workplace, exclusion from the labour market, poor working conditions and lower wages, while homophobia limits the inclusion and participation of LGBTQI+ workers within the trade union movement itself.
Workers in twelve major centres around the country marched for decent and improved working conditions.
