Accused killers denied bail

Alexandra, Gauteng, South Africa

Two of the four people accused of killing foreign national Emmanuel Sithole were denied bail in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court.
Magistrate Syta Prinsloo said Sizwe Mngomezulu and Sifundo Mzimela were likely to interfere with witnesses and disturb the peace being restored in Alexandra, following xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in the area. Mngomezulu, Mzimela, Mthinto Bhengu, and a fourth accused, who is still a minor, face charges of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances for allegedly killing Sithole in the northern Johannesburg township, in April.
